2nd Amendment Reasons

When you think long and hard about it, you realize that the Founding Fathers had three reasons for the Second Amendment. Two of them are very similar.

The Founding Fathers understood that absolute power corrupts absolutely. Those who have the power of being in government tend to want to take the power away from those who are not in government.

Society’s Defense

Self defense of the citizens to protect themselves from the government getting too powerful.

The Founding Fathers realized that absolute power corrupts absolutely. Those in power are frequently tempted by that power and will want to keep that power by taking power away from those who are not in power.

Militia

All of us of age—you, me, and the other citizens of the United States—are responsible for protecting the United States in case of invasion.
